Lambda Omicron Chapter, North Carolina State University

Lambda Omicron

The Lambda Omicron Chapter was chartered at North Carolina State University in March of 1983. Over the past 29 years, we have graduated hundreds of business leaders that have gone onto careers in industries around the world. Throughout this time, we have also received dozens of local, regional, and national awards that we proudly showcase in Nelson Hall. Our most recent awards include two given to us by Alpha Kappa Psi Nationals.

  • “First-Place Fraternity Standing” (2011) for our overall performance as displayed through our Annual Chapter Report and compared to other chapters across the nation.
  • “Best Philanthropy” (2011) for our work with Adopt-a-Highway over the past 10 years as compared to other chapters across the nation.

Our chapter works hard each day to maintain our status as one of the best chapters around. We have also received numerous other recognitions in recent years including “10 Years of Service” (2011) from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Adopt-a-Highway division. Also, in 2011, 8 of our members were named to the 2012 Alpha Kappa Psi All Academic Team which recognizes outstanding fraternity members nationwide. Additionally, our chapter has hosted Alpha Kappa Psi Regional Leadership Training workshops for the past two years where members from surrounding chapters come to learn the skills it takes to lead in this fraternity.

We are proud to exist along all of the other organizations in the Poole College of Management. With our seat on the Poole Council, we remain one of the largest and most active organizations with the college. In fact, we were one of the first organizations to join the college when it was first established at North Carolina State University in 1992. Other past involvements with the Poole College of Management include:

  • Volunteering at Wells Fargo Lecture, along with the Poole Ambassador’s organization
  • Lambda Omicron Alumni Reunion sponsored by the Poole College of Management in April 2011
  • Sponsoring and volunteering at Shack-a-Thon for the Poole College of Management
  • Organizing the 2011 NCSU Homecoming float for the Poole College of Management along with the Poole Ambassadors
  • Joint professional speaker series with other organizations throughout the Poole College of Management.
